If you host multiple sites inside the same account and one of them is hacked, it's very likely that all of them will get hacked after that. There are various reasons why this could happen, the two most popular are: using very weak passwords or using outdated scripts with known vulnerabilities. In this way, one single compromised website can make a lot of damage to all of your Internet sites, because getting access to one script usually allows hackers to access the whole hosting account. This is the reason why we've created a brand new security option known as JailHost. Once turned on, this feature will literally lock an Internet site within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the remaining Internet sites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be resistant to further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your websites up-to-date, but it'll greatly limit the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

If you host your sites in a shared hosting account from our firm, you will be able to protect them by using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is accessible with all plans and can be enabled for every folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for many different sites never get mixed up like it quite often happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default because you may use scripts which need access to folders outside the main site folder and this option can interfere with their correct functioning, but securing all the other folders is simple and easy. If a protected Internet site gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to restore it in a short time because we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups through Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

All of our semi-dedicated hosting packages come with JailHost provided by default. The option is not enabled automatically when you add a domain since you may need to use a script that accesses several folders in the account, yet you can activate it without difficulty from your Hepsia Control Panel and protect your other sites with just a couple of clicks. Hepsia is much better to use if you have multiple websites since it keeps them in separate folders and does not keep the files for several websites in the same folder as it often happens with other Control Panels. This enables us to offer you JailHost as all the folders can be isolated from each other. In case that any of your sites gets hacked, we will almost instantly restore it using the several daily backup copies which we will keep and meanwhile the attacker will not be able to do further damage because the access to your other Internet sites will be cut off.
